Sean Howard
Founder of OzEmail. The company became an ISP in 1994 against some 30 competitors and quickly attained market leadership. OzEmail was then listed Nasdaq, raising some $A55 million. The company was sold to MCI in 1999 for $A520m. Prior to OzEmail, he founded Australian Personal Computer magazine, then sold 60 % to Consolidated Press Holdings in 1984. Remained as managing director of the jointly owned publishing company. During this period, introduced Australian PC User, PC Week, Computing and Australian Communications. Conspress purchased remainder of equity in 1992.Sean is currently Managing various stock market and venture capital investments.
Ramin Marzbani
Ramin Marzbani is regarded as a leading technology, internet and financial services analyst and researcher in Australia and Asia. Ramin was the CEO of www.consult from 1995-2003 and oversaw the transition of the company to ACNielsen following the sale of the business in 2000. The company has gained recognition for pioneering work and excellence in 13 countries. Previously, Ramin spent three years as a consultant for Booz-Allen & Hamilton and seven years in various positions at IBM. Ramin has a BE from UNSW and an MBA from AGSM. He is currently an active seed and early stage technology investor and sits on various boards and advisory councils.
Lloyd Ernst
Founder and Chief Executive of WebCentral, Australias largest Web Hosting provider. Also founder and co-founder roles in PowerUp and Xtremlok, a portfolio which created value in excess of $75 million. Presently a board member of Pipe Networks (ASX.PWK) and a board member of the Internet Industry Association. Lloyd has a current interest in China through Sinocode, a software outsourcing company he also founded.
David Spence
David Spence is CEO of wireless broadband provider Unwired Australia. He began his career as a chartered accountant working for the South African Deloittes office. In 1989 David immigrated to Australia and began working for Australian Consolidated Press first as GM of Computer Publications (ACP) and then as Assistant GM to the ACP Group. In 1991 David was appointed CEO of Freedom Furniture until 1995 when he joined OzEmail as Managing Director. David has held various CEO and board positions. David has a commerce degree and post graduate qualifications from Natal and Cape Town Universities (South Africa) and is also Chairman of the Internet Industry Association (IIA).
Tony Brennan
A chartered accountant with a bachelor of business from Curtin University. Almost 30 years experience in a variety of business including Managing Director of Mount Edon Gold Mines from 1990 to 1997. More recently a founder of corporate advisory Delta Capital Pty Ltd. Delta has been an active participant in assisting companies with fund raising and corporate advice in the recent and continuing growth sectors of mining services, minerals exploration and alternative energy.
Karl Seigling
11 years investment experience in the Financial Services Sector both in Australia and Overseas. Roles included proprietary trading in overnight currencies and bonds and bond options on the Sydney Futures for Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and Goldman Sachs. Karl was MD of eFinancial (a subsidiary of Challenger Group), a private equity fund with Pooled Development Fund status, focused on early stage and expansion capital. Currently manages Cadence Asset Management and Cadence Capital, a listed long/short Equity fund.
Marc Phillips
15 years experience in internet technologies. He is the founder/CEO of SearchForecast. Previously, Marc was founder/CEO of APT Strategies in 1993 and sold to Nasdaq listed Jupiter Research in 1999. Marc was a founding shareholder of Australia's leading affiliate company - Commission Monster and initial shareholder of Viva9, a provider of ad-serving technologies, both acquired by Blue Freeway Ltd in 2007. Marc was a founding shareholder of GlanceGuide in 2007 which Nielsen acquired in 2010. Based in San Francisco, Marc holds advisory and board positions in GeoDelic, Localyte, Sonim Technologies and AdSemble.
